PRESS RELEASE

Two new real estate apps will keep buyers up to speed in a hot market

Two new real estate apps will keep buyers up to speed in a hot market

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Toronto, ON Canada, (September 16, 2021) – Canadian real estate company Property.ca has launched two mobile real estate tools: the condos.ca app and the property.ca app. They give GTA and Vancouver buyers an edge with instant new listing notifications, easy search capabilities, and other tools to navigate a hot market where prices can jump dramatically from week to week and listings are snapped up in days.

“The apps offer users everything our website does, plus one huge advantage: instant push notifications,” says Bayan Qandil, CEO, Property.ca. “This is a feature we think will be most useful to clients, given the hot market right now. Knowing about a listing the moment it hits the market ensures no opportunities are missed. This powerful app delivers all the features of condo.ca and property.ca in your pocket.”

The apps are faster and more intuitive than the mobile-optimized versions of the two sites. Setting search filters is quick and intuitive: users can search by area, price, square footage, building type, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, parking, outdoor space, and amenities. Both listing and sold alerts can be set for instant push notifications. Buyers can jump on in-demand properties and stay up-to-date on prices, and sellers have up-to-the-minute data to inform their own pricing strategies.

The apps have all the sites’ latest upgrades, including a historical search feature that shows sold properties in the building or the area. The interface enhances the search experience with e-commerce-style tools including a comparison feature that lets users look at up to eight properties, and “properties you might like,” which suggests similar listings, including ones just outside the set search area.

“‘Properties you might like’ pointed us to a listing in a nearby area we hadn’t considered,” says Noel George, a Property.ca client. “We were looking in Etobicoke, and when it suggested a listing in East Mississauga, we took a look, and ended up buying a beautiful condo that checked all our boxes.”

“We are consciously pushing the boundaries of what real estate technology can do, and how buyers and sellers engage with it. Both the apps and our sites are designed to be friendly and intuitive, with an experience reminiscent of shopping on Amazon or Best Buy,” says Bayan. “Future app-only features are in the works to create better, easier experiences for our users.”

The condos.ca and property.ca apps are free and available for download on the App Store and Google Play.

Features and benefits at a glance

The new condos.ca and property.ca mobile apps put the power of our robust search sites in your pocket, giving you access to all the rich features on the go. Push notifications enable you to act quickly on opportunities.

  • Listing alert push notifications: Get listing alerts on your phone in real time instead of having to check your email. It’s faster, more convenient, and gives you an advantage in a fast-moving market, ensuring you don’t miss any opportunities. Notifications can be set for instantly, daily, weekly, and monthly.

  • Biometric login: Face or fingerprint recognition means there’s no need to remember passwords: access is instant and easy.

  • Select your location: When you first download the app, you select your location so you only see the listings in your chosen area whenever you open up the app.

  • Search by what you know: Your search can be as general as a city name or as specific as a particular building or address.

  • Search properties for sale and for rent: Easily switch between properties for sale and for rent.

  • Sold listings: By toggling from “For Sale” to “Sold,” you can see past sales going back as far as 2003: get insights into current property values, appreciation over time and more. You can also set alerts to get notified about sold listings, making it easy to track patterns and help with both pricing and buying decisions.

  • Rented listings: By toggling from “For Rent” to “Rented” you can see past sales and get a better understanding of current pricing - as a renter or an investor looking for tenants.

  • Price history: See when a specific listing has been previously listed and what it sold or rented for.

  • Filter results: Set filters to narrow your search to what matters most. Search filters include price, area, square footage, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, balcony, amenities, home type, parking, locker, days on the market, building age, maintenance fees, unit exposure (the direction it faces) and more.

  • Compare: Look at up to eight listings, side by side, to see how they compare.

  • Market trends and analytics: Get an idea of average prices, maintenance fees, and rents for the building or neighbourhood you're looking at.

  • Enhanced demographics: At-a-glance info on neighborhood composition by age, household composition, number of children per household, tenancy and property type, commute statistics, languages spoken, and average education and income of residents.

  • See similar listings: The app recommends listings similar to the ones you’ve been looking at. This feature will go slightly outside the boundaries of your search to ensure you don’t miss an opportunity that’s close to the area you’re looking at - or just outside your price/square footage parameters.

  • Favourites: Click the star to save interesting listings to look at later. You can share them with others and use the comparison tool right from your Favourites list.

  • Building pages: Every building in the GTA has an info page with photos, details about the building and the area, the amenities, and a list of listings for sale, for rent, sold and rented.

  • Request a viewing: Notify an agent you’d like to see a specific listing.

  • Contact an agent: Send a message to an agent to inquire about a specific listing or ask a question.
