September 24, 2021, TORONTO, ON – Real estate company Property.ca has been listed on The Globe and Mail 2021 Canada’s Top Growing Companies, which ranks the country’s “boldest entrepreneurial businesses by the percentage of their revenue growth over three years.”

Last year, Property.ca agents sold more than $1B worth of properties, and are on track to surpass $1.5B in 2021. Revenue growth from 2017 to 2020 was 88.9%, a growth rate of 23.6% over three years. In the last two years, site traffic on the company’s three web properties – condos.ca, property.ca, and mrloft.ca – has seen an average of 2.5M views a month, up from about 1M a month, with a user base that has more than doubled, going from 500K to 1.1M. And, its agents’ production has doubled during the same timeframe, doubling the number of deals on a yearly basis.

The key to that success, according to Property.ca CEO Bayan Qandil, is a relatively unique approach to real estate: one that makes real estate data and insights accessible and empowers renters, buyers, sellers, and investors to make informed decisions.

“Being successful in real estate comes down to one thing: information,” he says. “It’s the only way to understand the true value of a property and navigate a constantly changing market. We have liberated the data that enables better decisions. People turn to our platforms for their best-in-industry search experience and in-depth, easy-to-understand data – and our technology team continues to work on new tools to improve the real estate journey."

A proprietary algorithm gives site visitors exact square footage and price per square foot data for condos, hard-to-find historical information on sales and rentals, as well as demographic data, neighbourhood information, listing alerts, and other features.

It’s an approach that benefits agents, too: the site’s popularity gives agents access to people who are actively looking for a property, which means less time spent searching for clients. In the last three years, Property.ca’s agent base has grown by over 60%, and the company continues to actively recruit new agents.
